This father does not require an introduction to any Malayali. He has seated himself, pulling an easy chair in the balcony of Kerala film as well as public life. With his thought provoking scripts and witty public statements, Sreenivasan has become a magical icon that relaxes you on every click.
And his son, the celestial singer who created a huge wave amongst the youngsters by humming the melody ‘Ente Khalbile Vennilaavu’ for Classmates. He has proved his talent as an actor playing the lead role in Cycle, which deals with a cycle of cash flow.
When these two actually played the roles of a father and a son for ‘Makante Achan’ I could foresee a special chemistry being formed between the actors. And my guess was right, this is a good movie. Nevertheless V M Vinu, the director, has disappointed us again by not making good use of a nice script.
The songs are good. The picturization of songs stands out when compared to the rest of the movie. Like many other low budget movies, Makante Achan also fails on technical aspects.
However, this movie gives you some breathing space among many other high profile movies that sequentially failed to match up with our expectations. Makante Achan will at least refresh you to fight intellectual recession in Malayalam filmdom. I rate this as a GOOD MOVIE.
