‘Thirakkatha’, the title itself is very comprehensive of the matter that this movie deals with. It develops through the preparation of a script for a movie that Akbar (Pruthviraj) wants to make. I have not seen this kind of an experiment in a Malayalam movie before. The subject matter, theme, treatment, everything gives the viewer a novel experience.
Essentially, this movie points towards some celebrities in the film industry. But with his talent, Ranjith confuses the audience giving many clues for qualifying stars. However, even if you have no clue of the celebrities depicted, you will enjoy this movie.
Thirakkatha is a fine example of disciplined direction. My hearty congratulations to Ranjith, the characters are perfectly carved. Nevertheless, I wish if Ranjith had just directed the movie, casting someone else to play the director.
All actors have done justice to their roles. Pruthviraj deserves a special appreciation for controlled acting. Priyamani’s performance in the climax is marvelous.
Overall, Thirakkatha is a VERY GOOD MOVIE.
